A nine member school

management committee has been formed at Gomoa–Adaa in the

Central Region, to help promote the aims and objectives of

Gomoa–Adaa vocational training centre.
The centre, popularly called “German Volunteers Training

School”, was established by some German volunteers who

worked in the area some 24 years ago.
It offers training in entrepreneurship skills, electrical

installation, carpentry and joinery, surveying draughtsmanship and

information technology.
Other areas which the institute deals with include English

language, building construction, social science, mathematics,

science, catering, dressmaking and hairdressing.
Speaking after the formation of the committee, Barimah Okrah

Tawiah II, Chief of Gomoa Sampa and chairman of the

committee appealed to intellectuals, businessmen and women,

traditional authorities as well as artisans with good knowledge in

craftsmanship in the Gomoa District to come together and

contribute in diverse ways to promote objectives of the centre.

According to Barimah Okrah Tawiah, that is the only way,

they could make their impact properly felt since the youth in the

area needed such training to enable them to become useful

citizens and positive contributors to national development.

Other members of the committee include, Mr .J.P. Ansah,

Madam Eunice Baiden, Mr. Eric Akobeng, District Labour

Officer for the area, Mr. K. Acquah, Assemblyman for Gomoa

Adaa electoral area, Mr. K. Incoom. , Representative of Ghana
