A fitness Walk to keep members of the electoral task force and other security personnel in shape for the upcoming elections was held here on Saturday.

In all 283 men and 32 officers drawn from the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Navy, Immigration Service, Ghana National Fire Service and the Customs Excise and Preventive Service took part on the two hour exercise which started from the Mandela park in Ashaiman through the hospital road to principal streets in communities 8,7,4, and 1 and ended at the Community 1 police station.

The exercise which was also aimed at fraternizing with members of the community intermittently saw some of the participants engaging in press ups which drew admiration and cheers from the members of the public.

Addressing the participants at the end of the exercise, DCOP John Kudalor, Tema Regional Police Commander, said the exercise was part of an elaborate programme planned to keep personal fit and well informed about the electoral process so that they can act professionally to face any challenges and  ensure a free, fair and peaceful election in December.

These exercises he said were also to enable the security personnel work in uniformity to achieve the objectives set.
