THE West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results of this year's May/June West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

The Council says the result of 16,190 candidates have been withheld pending the conclusion of investigations into various examination irregularities committed.

A statement issued on Thursday and signed by Mrs Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, Senior Public Affairs Officer of WAEC said “details on performance statistics and examination irregularities will be published as soon as the outstanding results are finalised”.

It said the results have been dispatched to the various schools and advised candidates to contact their schools for the results or access their results online.

A total of 136,935 candidates, including 21 visually impaired, from 572 senior high schools nationwide wrote the examination.
