Construction of District Police headquarters at Tafo progresses

The Police District and Divisional headquarters project, being executed at in the Kumasi Metropolis is progressing steadily.

The project including the provision of offices and barracks, which was commenced five months ago, was being funded by government and executed by Messrs Barreys Construction Limited.

Conducting newsmen round the project site at the weekend, Alhaji Abubekr Mamudu, project manager, said the first phase of work involving the construction of offices and a four-storey building containing 24 flats was near completion.

He said that the second phase of the project that involved the construction of 48 flats would soon start after completion of the first phase.

Alhaji Mamudu, praised the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tafo-Pankrono, Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei for supporting the project.

Mr. Kofi Asamoah, assembly member for the Santan Electoral Area in Old Tafo, expressed delight at the pace at which the project was progressing, and expressed hope that it would help to address the accommodation problem facing police personnel when completed.
