The Trinity Presbyterian Church at Kwashieman in Accra on Sunday re-launched its scholarship scheme in order to make more students in need become beneficiaries.

Speaking at the re-launch Mr. Kwesi Bosompim, Chairman of the Scholarship Committee, said the re-launch became necessary due to the high number of applications that the scheme had received and the dwindling of the funds of the scheme.

He said the scheme, which was first launched in 2001, had sponsored over 20 students from junior high to the tertiary level and others through apprenticeship.

Mr. Bosompim said the scheme needs about 6,000 new Ghana cedis in order to take care of the fees and the needs of the numerous applications that the committee had received and that currently the scheme is sponsoring seven students.

Mrs. Theresa Fruitful Lomotey, Proprietress of RECT Academy who was the Guest of Honour, advised the congregation to invest in the education of the needy in the church.

She praised the leadership of the church for the initiative and urged the congregation that 'quality education is the key to quality life in the future'.
