The Ashanti Regional Secretariat of National Democratic Congress (NDC) has affirmed its resolve to intensify campaign to win more Parliamentary seats in the Region.

The Party currently has three out of the 39 seats in the Region, these are Asawasi, Ejura-Sekyedumase and New Edubiase.

Alhaji Mohammed Sani, Ashanti Regional First Vice-Chairman of NDC, made the affirmation when inaugurating Kwabre East Zongo Caucus of the Party at Ahwiaa at the weekend.

He noted that NPP which claimed the Region was their stronghold had disappointed their members and coupled with prevailing conditions in the Region the electorate were yearning for a change.

“As a result many of them have threatened to vote the NDC back to power to improve their living standards,” he said.

Alhaji Sani said acute water shortages in many communities, high utility bills, poor infrastructure development and neglect of the youth resulting in high unemployment rate were some of the issues the NPP failed to address during its tenure of office in the past seven years.

He stressed the need for activists of the Party to explain its manifesto to the electorate since it was the panacea to the nation's socio-economic problems.

Mr Yaw Adu-Ansere, Kwabre East Parliamentary Aspirant of NDC, urged executives of the Party in the constituency to bury their differences and intensify their campaign to win the seat.

Alhaji Badaru Abdulai was elected Co-ordinator of the Caucus with Mr Taluta Adam as Secretary, Mr Anyars Sorodogo, Organiser, Mr Bahsah Ibrahim, Treasurer and Madam Bailau Ibrahim as Women's Organiser.
