The opposition parties in Parliament have been asked to do away with the policy of opposing every government policy and rather contribute to national development.

"I must say the way opposition parties in Ghana are conducting themselves makes it very doubtful whether at all they are ready to contribute to achieving any significant economic development in the face of opposing every policy and moves of the government," the Executive Director of the Gospel Evangelical Crusades and Providence Foundation, Ghana (GOEVAC-PFG) Reverend Kwarteng Amaning said at a press conference in Accra on Wednesday.

He stated that political parties were not trade organisations, a union or bunch of aggrieved individuals to go on demonstration to discredit the nation at a time when the country's economic growth had received international commendation and acclamation.

Reverend Kwarteng Amaning cautioned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates to vote based on issues and not on personalities, because victory at the congress was victory for Ghana.

"We will therefore appeal to the delegate to consider voting for a candidate who will improve the agriculture sector and the one who knows how to sustain the newly oil discovery to make Ghana an oil rich nation", he said.

In another development, the Executive Director presented a special award to Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng for his wisdom, humility, selflessness and fear of God.
