A Sekondi District Magistrate's Court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of one Joseph Ansah, the driver of a BMW saloon car, for failing to appear in court for over speeding.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Joe Hedidor, told the court that the accused was arrested by personnel of the Western Regional Motor Transport Traffic Unit (MTTU) at Shama-Kumasi near Takoradi at 8.00 a.m. at the weekend.

He said the accused was driving at 65 kilometres per hour instead of 60 kilometres.

Chief Inspector Hedidor said the personnel of the Regional MTTU cautioned the accused against over speeding when his vehicle was stopped, but the accused argued with them saying, "I am ready for court".

He said the accused was, therefore granted bail to appear in court but he failed to turn up.
