Come To Upper East Please!
10.05.2007 LISTEN

I am one regular reader of Graphic Showbiz. I particularly enjoy reading Francis Doku's Listening and Watching column, which reviews the performances of radio and TV presenters.

Perhaps Francis Doku in my estimation could qualify as the most humorous and critical arts writer and possibly the best in the whole country.

As a regular reader of your paper, one flaw that I have identified about his column is, his write-ups are centered on media personnel and houses from only the south, which discourages those from the northern sector from exposing their talents to the whole country and the world.

After all, Graphic Showbiz is a national paper that is supposed to be national in character in the coverage of events.

On some few occasions, I have read from him about the performance of radio presenters from Tamale and that is not enough as far as the northern sector is concerned.

In the Bolgatanga municipality, there are many radio presenters who can rub shoulders with the Kojo Oppong Nkrumahs, the Kwami Sefa Kayis, the Bernard Avles, the Kwame Adinkras, among others, if they are given enough exposure.

We in Bolga would be happy if we read an analysis of the performance of radio presenters and stations in Bolga such as GBC's URA Radio, Rock FM and Style FM.

If that is done, it would put to rest arguments in the area as to which of these stations is the best. Already, a morning show host in one of the stations in the region always acclaims himself as the best in the region.

Please we would love to read stories on radio stations and presenters as well as tourists centres from the Upper East Region.
