The chiefs and people of Nsuta in the Sekyere West District have launched a one billion-cedi community centre project.

It is under the auspices of the Nsutaman Youngsters Club and Nsutaman Youth Movement.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Osei Assibey-Antwi, the Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, said the government had voted ¢22 billion towards the rehabilitation of the Kwamang/Nsuta road and the tarring of roads in Nsuta.

He commended the people of Nsuta both residents and non-residents for their co-operation for the development of the town.

Mr Kwabena Owusu-Saddam, Chairman of the Nsutaman Youngsters Club, said citizens of the town resident in Canada were supporting the project with ¢32 million.

The project is being financed through voluntary contributions and fund-raising harvests.

Mr Owusu-Saddam said plans were far advanced to construct a community library and an Information Communication Technology (ICT) centre.

Nana Adu Agyei Bonsafo II, Omanhene of Nsuta, appealed to the residents to be law-abiding and always contribute towards the development of the town.
