President Kufuor has appealed for calm in the Ablekuma South Constituency of the Greater Accra Region as his office investigates complaints of misbehaviour by the Deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister and MP for the area, Madam Theresa Tagoe.
Twenty-two out of twenty-seven constituency chairmen of the party in the Greater Accra Region on Thursday morning petitioned the President over what they say is a gross misconduct on the part of Madam Tagoe during a constituency meeting on Monday.
Addressing party supporters at his residence after he received the petition, President Kufuor advised them to uphold discipline in order to retain the party in power in the next elections.
The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the party, Samuel Crabbe who led the delegation, told Joy News the party will not allow any individual's interest to override that of the party.
Mr. Crabbe said the Regional Secretariat will also petition Madam Theresa Tagoe's immediate boss Sheik I.C. Quaye and the national secretariat of the party over her conduct.
