THE OKAIKOI South Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed its indignation and anger at attempts by the Regional Executive of the party to impose on them a Chairman they had sacked under Article 10 of the party's constitution.

The Executives of the party at the constituency said though 66 of the constituency delegates with only three against removed the Constituency Chairman on March 11 this year, and accordingly informed both the National and the Regional Secretariats of the party per letter dated March 14, attempts were being made by the Regional Executives to retain the sacked Chairman.

In the said letter to the National and Regional Secretariats, it was pointed out that the sacked Constituency Chairman, Mr. Rexford Frempong should hand over all party properties in his possession to the 1st Vice Chairman, Alhaji Issah Sandah to take over as the Chairman.

But a delegation to The Chronicle's office on Friday stated that the Regional Secretariat of the party was bent on imposing Mr. Frempong as the Chairman on them, contrary to the constitution of the party.

They said they would resist that attempt from the Regional Secretariat even if the issue ends up at the Supreme Court.

A press release dated 29th March and signed by Mr. David Azu, Assistant Secretary, which they brought along, reconfirmed the decision of the Emergency Delegates Conference of 11th March that Mr. Frempong had been removed as Chairman and that he should hand over all party properties in his possession to Alhaji Sandah to assume office as the new Chairman.
