US-based Ghanaian broadcast journalist Kevin Taylor has taken a swipe at the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah, for crediting First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo's renovation works at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) as an achievement of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the region.

This comes after the minister reportedly said a renovation done at KATH by Mrs. Akufo-Addo, is a "monumental project" of the NPP in the region in his attempt to list his party’s projects.

"This is Otumfuo’s Uncle's Party he formed with 700 pounds at Manhyia according to Otumfuo himself," Kevin Taylor wrote in an apparent jab at the ruling party who boasts of the Ashanti region as its electoral world bank.

In an interview that has gotten many talking, the regional regional minister, after visibly struggling to share projects completed by his party, dared the NDC to list 10 signature projects they were able to complete in the region.

"They should give me 10 signature projects or legacy projects that they commissioned in the 8-year period they were in power, in the Ashanti Region," the minister dared.

The vocal broadcaster further highlighted what he describes as “a hospital within a hospital” inaugurated in Bole by former First Lady Lordina Mahama.

To him, despite how huge the project is, neither the NDC or the former first couple cited it as an achievement because it is a basic thing to them.

"The NDC has never added this in any of their conversations as an achievement. There was no jamboree, you do not even hear Mrs Mahama or her husband President Mahama talk about it because it’s something very basic to the NDC,” his post read further.
