Akufo-Addo is building a Cathedral for God but cannot sign a bill for God; he’s a hypocrite – Blakk Rasta

Media personality and musician, Abubakar Ahmed, popularly known as Blakk Rasta has accused President Akufo-Addo of being a hypocrite in his handling of the anti-gay bill.

Parliament early this month successfully passed a bill to criminalise the practice and promotion of LGBTQ+ activities.

This week, the Presidency in a letter addressed to the Clerk of Parliament said it would be improper for Parliament to transmit the anti-gay bill to President Akufo-Addo for him to approve.

The letter explained that this is because of the pending applications for an order of interlocutory injunction to restrain you and Parliament from transmitting the Bill to the President and, also, to restrain the President from signifying his assent to the Bill, pending the final determination of the matter.

“Therefore, it would be improper for you to transmit the Bill to the President and equally improper for this Office to receive the Bill until the Supreme Court determines the matters raised in the suits,” parts of the letter from the President signed by Nana Bediatuo Asante, Secretary to the President said.

Reacting to this, Blakk Rasta says President Akufo-Addo is being a hypocrite.

He argues that it is hypocritical for the President to use the taxes of Ghanaians to build a Cathedral for God but take a stand that he cannot sign a bill into law for the same God he says he believes in.

“Mr. President you are a hypocrite. You are a dirty hypocrite. You are building a Cathedral for God, your God who you believe in yet you can’t sign a bill for your God. You are building a whole Cathedral for your God, forcing Ghanaians to pay money, employing very hypocritical and very deviant characters for the Cathedral to be built, and yet the same Bible you believe in, you cannot append your signature for a bill for God. What a hypocrite,” Blakk Rasta argued.
