My next gov’t will construct a bridge over Oti River to enhance transportation – Mahama

Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his promise to construct a bridge over the Oti River when he becomes president again.

The former President gave the assurance on Monday when he held a productive meeting with the Regional House of Chiefs in Dambai as part of his ‘Building Ghana Tour’.

“Oti is one of the six new regions recently created, and like the others, it faces challenges in terms of the socio-economic infrastructure and institutions necessary for effective governance. I reaffirmed my commitment to constructing a bridge over the river Oti during the meeting,” John Dramani Mahama said in a post on Facebook after the meeting.

According to the leader of the NDC, the bridge will enhance transportation and communication between the southern and northern parts of the Oti region and connect it to the Northern Region.

At the meeting, the chiefs also provided suggestions for input into the National Democratic Congress 2024 manifesto.

In line with the NDC educational policy laid out by the late President John Evans Atta Mills, John Mahama assured the Chiefs that his next government will establish universities in Oti and the other five regions to improve access to education.
