Hitler Gave Africa Independence

He may be one of the worst people ever lived on the planet but the repercussion and his failures became the freedom of the colonies. Before World War II, only four countries had gained independence from the United Kingdom.

The first was the United States after a violent altercation between the colonies and the British military in the 17th century leading to their independence in 1776. It wasn’t until 1919 that the Afghans had their independence followed by Egypt in 1922 and Iraq in 1932. 55 countries remained oppressed by the United Kingdom until World War II made it possible for freedom fighters to succeed both violently and nonviolent.

The Colonial Master (United Kingdom) had the resources to quash an uprising for independence in their colonies, and successfully dominated, suppressed and oppressed countries such as Ghana, Nigeria and India. They succeeded in their oppression by directing their human and financial resources into supressing the colonies until WW II exhausted a great portion of their resources and man power making it expensive to continue their oppressive rule. Independence was not gained because the oppressor was kind, but rather he was too tired to continue.

We may call Hitler evil but we should remember that evil existed and was acted upon other countries by the self-acclaimed moral countries before Hitler was born. The United Kingdom did not value the lives of the citizens living in their colonies, Indians were referred to as dogs belonging to cage by Winston Churchill and would have remained to be treated as such if the British parliament had not voted that it was too costly to keep this dog on a leash.

The World War was deadly and cost millions of lives but the effort to prevent Hitler from succeeding led to the freedom of Ghana, India, Nigeria and many other colonies. It took an evil man to weaken evil countries and kingdoms for Africa to be free, so when you think of World War II, think of the freedom it gave your country
