Kwabena Adjei Agyepong, the former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has publicly touted Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his magnanimity and unifying spirit.

As one of the contenders in the NPP flagbearership race in which Bawumia emerged victorious, Kwabena Adjei Agyepong has reaffirmed his support.

Speaking at an event in the Volta Region during Dr. Bawumia's "Thank You" tour, Mr Agyepong expressed his support for the Vice President and highlighted the importance of unity within the party.

"I was part of the ten people who contested the election, and in the end, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emerged as the winner to lead our party. In such contests, the winners have to be magnanimous in victory, and the losers also have to be gracious in defeat," Mr Agyepong stated.

He further emphasized Dr. Bawumia's magnanimity, citing the Vice President's efforts in reaching out to all those who contested him.

Mr Agyepong recounted a recent gathering in Kumasi, where winners and losers sat together, describing the experience as "beautiful."

"He has demonstrated that he is a unifier, and I have also been gracious in defeat, so we are working together to ensure that he wins, and the party wins in 2024," Mr Agyepong affirmed.

Encouraging unity within the party, Mr Agyepong urged party executives, as well as winners and losers of the recent parliamentary primaries, to come together and collaborate for the success of the NPP in the upcoming 2024 elections.

"Our votes here have been increasing since 1992, and I am very hopeful that with Dr. Bawumia, we will even have more and win next year, in shaa Allah. So let us all come together and work hard for victory," he added.

Dr. Bawumia's visit to the Volta Region included a delegation comprising NPP National Chairman Stephen Ayensu Ntim and Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, the Member of Parliament for Efiduase in the Ashanti Region.

The tour is part of Dr. Bawumia's efforts to express gratitude and engage with party members across the country.
