Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri and Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh is upbeat about victory for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming Assin North by-election.

He noted that the ruling party, in its zeal to regain the seat it lost in the 2020 elections, has come out with a well-guided strategy.

Based on the strategies, the lawmaker addressing journalists in Parliament in Accra said the NPP will come out victorious.

“We have our strategy, and they have theirs and let’s see at the end of the day what happens. They even said they were going to win Kumawu, but we all know what happened.

“We have read all the polls, we are guided, we are mindful, and we are moving in a direction that will put our strategy spot on, so I am very happy they are feeling they will win,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Assin North by-election will come off on Tuesday, June 27.

The poll has been a closely contested race between the NPP's Charles Opoku and the deposed National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP, James Gyakye Quayson.

The ruling New Patriotic Party currently holds a slim majority, and a win for Charles Opoku would solidify its parliamentary majority.

However, a victory for James Gyakye Quayson would give the NDC a much-needed boost.
