Assin North by-election: “Whether they construct the road or not, the people of Assin North have decided already”— NDC

Deputy Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress(NDC) in the Assin North Constituency Apaah Martin predicts a landslide victory for James Gyakye Quayson irrespective of the New Patriotic Party overnight road construction antics.

According to Apaah Martin, NDC'S candidate James Gyakye Quayson has accomplished alot for the people of the constituency.

In an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on the Eyewitness News on Citi Fm, he asserted the constituents already have already made up their minds irrespective of the voting buying antics of the ruling NPP.

“Now that it is getting to the by-election, they have started the construction of the road. It is not a bad thing, but we are telling them whether they construct the road or not, the people of Assin North have decided already,” Mr. Martin said.

According to him, Hon. Quayson won over 17, 000 votes in the 2020 general election defeating his closest rival who secured 14,000 votes.

He indicated that the NDC has set an agenda to secure 29,000 votes for Gyakye Quayson in the by-election.

Embattled National Democratic Congress (NDC) member, James Gyakye Quayson has officially announced his intention to contest the Assin North by-election scheduled for June 27.
