THE District Director of Ghana Education Service (GES) in-charge of Adaklu-Anyigbe, Mr Samuel Tumaku, has appealed to teachers both from the basic and second cycle institutions in the district to redouble their efforts in the classroom to recover the lost time during the recent strike action by teachers.

He said now that the chips are down, teachers should endeavour to cover the lost time to help children particularly those in the final year whose examination timetable would not be changed by the West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC) to enable them make for the lost time.

Similarly, he appealed to parents and guardians not to over-burden the children with domestic chores, so that they could have enough time to study for their exams.

Mr Tumaku made these suggestions in an interview granted the Times after a routine visit to some schools in the district.

The District Director lamented over the deprivation land in the entire district .

He said the three traditional areas, Adaklu, Agortime and Ziope in particular were lacking in both infrastructure and institutional development.
