The number of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members of Parliament (MPs) who accompanied the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to celebrate the recent Akwasidae festival at Manhyia Palace has been settled.
Despite an alleged propaganda by the pro-Alan group different that the Vice President was accompanied by only 31 MPs, the MC for Akwasidae, ace broadcast journalist Kwame Adinkra who was quoted by the group has refuted the claims and indicated that Vice President Bawumia was accompanied by 85 MPs.
Earlier, the pro-Alan group allegeldy misquoted the ace broadcast journalist that 31 MPs from Ashanti Region was at the ceremony.
The correction by a senior broadcaster, Kwame Adinkra, who used to be the official MC at Manhyia therefore, sharply rebutted the figure churned out by some leading members of the pro-Alan Kyeremateng camp for obvious political reasons.
"I was provided a tall list of MPs and other government officials at the event as MC. The total number of MPs from Ashanti Region, were 31 out of 47. Other MPs from Eastern Region, Greater Accra and other regions all summed up to 85 and I was shocked.
"Let me put it on record that, the viral audio out there claiming only few MPs followed Dr. Bawumia is false. And I couldn't believe my eyes to see other government appointees like Shirley Ayorkor Botcheway and others all because of Dr. Bawumia", the renowned broadcaster set record straight on Neat FM.
Mr. Adinkra, however, described so-called purported audio believe to be engineered by supporters of pro-Alan group as lies, falsehood and propaganda urging the general public to disregard it.
