The management of the New Times Corporation, publishers of the Ghanaian Times and The Spectator, on Friday held an awards ceremony for nine retirees and other employees who have served the corporation for substantial numbers of years.
A total of 46 employees who have served for between 10 and 40 years were honoured.
Each of them received a certificate of service, a cheque for an undisclosed sum of money and a gift.
Those who have served 40 years and above received a refrigerator in addition to their package.
Nabanyin Pratt, Managing Director of the corporation, commended the beneficiries and the entire staff for their hard work and dedication to duty but advised them against complacency.
Mr Pratt said the greatest problem facing the corporation was the lack of cooperation between the workers and management to tackle issues confronting the corporation.
'In the coming years, we must all see ourselves as stakeholders in the development of the corporation by putting our shoulders to the wheel to ensure that the corporation moves from strength to strength,' he said.
Mr Pratt also stressed the need for the corporation to strive for improvement in various levels of training for employees. He also urged the workers to sacrifice a little more for the corporation.
