A member of the ruling New Patriotic Party’s communications team, Dennis Miracle Aboagye has slammed persons who are trying to assume a vote of censure is a reshuffle.

The former Akuapem North MCE said the two words have different meanings.

According to him, the minority’s censure motion was full of lies, propaganda and falsehood.

He noted that the censure motion can never be described as an appeal to the president to reshuffle his ministers.

"Censure on the basis of falsehood, lies, propaganda, and criminal allegations aren’t the same as appealing to the president to reshuffle," he said.

Mr. Aboagye added that the minister is legally entitled to defend himself from the allegations that were criminal in nature criminalities, which must be duly proven by the motion’s proponents.

"The Minister as a citizen reserves the right to defend himself against criminal allegations, and it is up to the proponents to prove or rest," he argued in a tweet on Friday, December 9.

Meanwhile, the censure motion filed against Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta by the minority caucus has failed.

The two-thirds required to approve the motion through voting was not successful as the majority staged a walkout before the censure vote commenced.
