Association of Parliamentary Candidates, Aspirants and Citizens of Ghana (APCACG) is a socio-political association which was formed by a group of people who contested the 2020 general presidential and parliamentary elections on the ticket of Ghana Union Movement(G.U.M).

The idea of the formation of the Association came into being after the election when the Founder and the Flagbearer of the Party (Ghana Union Movement) dissolved all the structures of the party and asked all members to find some work to do.

Members decided to put themselves together as one family to champion the course of making Ghana better, as they would have done if they had gotten the opportunity to be in the Parliament House.

The Association is made up of three (3) categories of people, those who could register and contest during the election, those who campaigned but could not register with the Electoral Commission to contest, and the citizens (supporters) who also campaigned for candidates.

The association has a membership of about One hundred (100) who are coming from all corners of the country.

The Association is governed by a twenty (20) executive members who were elected at a meeting organized at Ejisu in the Ashanti Region, to steer the affairs for four(4) year term.

The Association is duly registered with the registrar general under the Companies Act, 2019(Act 992). The Association is governed by a constitution which sets our aims and objectives that we uphold in high esteem.

The aims and objectives for the formation of this noble Association are, to express our views, and contribute ideas that may help in building our country, Ghana. This inspiration is taken from the fact that, we are parliamentarians.

The second aim is to establish and forge a closer cooperation with Organizations and Associations in the country and the outside world.

The idea, according to leadership came into mind since no one person or group of people can build the country and the world alone. It needs the cooperation of all.

The third aim is to lobby for financial and material supports for the Association to improve the socio – political ambition of its members.

Last but not the least, to provide support for the Ghanaian youths, especially the unemployed to venture into employable skills.

It is said that, when a rich man lives in the mist of the poor, he is considered poor, since all of them will depend on him and the only thing to get the Ghanaian youths out of social vices is to get them some employable skills.

The Association is, however, inviting people from all walks of life, political parties, parliamentarians, both former and current, Associations and Non – Governmental Organizations to join this noble Association to give some smiles to the Ghanaian youths, and to make Ghana great and strong.

The official launching of the Association comes off on Sunday November 20, 2022 at Amasaman in the Greater Accra region.
