Feature Article I Feel Very Sorry For The Next Ghanaian President After Akufo Addo
FEB 2, 2022 LISTEN

The current political crisis and economic depression Ghana faces is something every concerned citizen must be scared about. Ghana is no more a country but a nightmare and disaster for any normal human being. How possible a country with so many precious resources could be in such a horrible situation?

Ghanaians must begin to look for the right president that will improve this abysmal situation in the country since Akufo Addo is doing more harm to the already ruined Ghana.

Apart from corruption, reckless spending and the huge debt that attribute to political and economical instability, the lack of investments has also deepened the woes of Ghana to render it a useless country.

Investments in Ghana dropped sharply since the NPP government came to power. This was due to the massive corruption at the Ghana Harbor and Ports Authority.

Also, the high customs duties of over 300% on incoming goods, discouraged many investors. The amount of funds citizens, businessmen, and entrepreneurs invest in a country, don’t only create jobs but also lead to faster economic growth.

When there are no investments, it affects the economy and the country faces financial difficulties. Developed countries without adequate resources like Ghana citizens' standard of living is better due to investments in the economy.

There has been always corruption at the ports and harbors but never has it been so serious and hopeless under any government than that of Akufo Addo’s NPP.

The president thought Ghana just needs a leader to make history. He is a total waste to the country. Nana Akufo Addo’s bad decisions, incompetence, lack of leadership skills, and corruption, have contributed to the collapse of Ghana.

More importantly, his incompetence has become the common people’s burden and now the government wants to impose illegal taxation, E-Levy, on the people. This will never happen.

Just a couple of days ago, the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, said Ghana needs the E-Levy to avoid the country going to the International Monetary Fund –IMF, unknowing he is lying to Ghanaians. According to Sam George, a member of the National Democratic Congress, Ghana has already gone to IMF.

This is a statement no one should doubt because the current debt stock of Ghana has now increased to 341. 8 billion –Ghc, this is serious and should be an issue of concern to any Ghanaian who thinks of the future of the country.

The result of “four more years for Nana” is that the government can’t even explain to the people how and what the money was used for, surprisingly, they are not ashamed of themselves to talk about breaking 8. Wonders shall never end.

Every African country has been affected by corruption, making life extremely difficult for the common people

Analyzing the current economic doom Ghana faces and the high rate of unemployment, the one who comes after President Akufo Addo might not be able to solve this crisis within ten years and since Ghanaians are always impatient, that president will experience the same attack on Akufo Addo.

I don’t know what Ato Forson, a Member of the Finance Committee of Parliament, means by Nana Akufo Addo is dangerously mismanaging Ghana’s economy; therefore, it will soon collapse when the economy has already collapsed.

Ghana needs a non-corrupt, intelligent and industrious person, equipped with leadership skills, to utilize the country’s resources for job creation to attain a stable economy.

Until the country has such a leader, the vast resources will be meaningless as it is today and Ghanaians will continue to suffer even more.
