Delegates of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the just ended Ashanti Regional annual conference have rooted for Madam Mary Posch Oduro to be the party's treasurer ahead of its internal elections slated for 2022.

The delegates, dressed in a branded T-shirt pointed out that it is time for the hardworking woman to handle the monetary affairs of the party.

Madam Posch Oduro contested for the position of National Treasurer of the NPP but lost with a slight margin to the incumbent Mr. Abankwah Yeboah.

Her appearance at the conference brought joy to most of the delegates as she was seen interacting with them and sharing pleasantries as well.

Some delegates who spoke to the reporter indicated that the current state of the party needs a dynamic person who can mobilise resources to help achieve the 'break the 8' agenda of the NPP government.

Meanwhile, Madam Posch Oduro in a previous interview with the media has stated that "I still stand by my words that I am capable of managing the financial affairs of the great New Patriotic Party and should I be given the opportunity, I will justify my inclusion to see the general well-being of the grassroots and the youth shall be rejuvenated".

However, she is yet to officially declare her intention to contest the position again as the party frowns on early declarations by persons interested in contesting for various positions.
