You never know what you have until you lose it – Oh poor yelling Ghanaians

Are majority of Ghanaians farsighted enough to tell when they are being deceived; played on their intelligence and taken for fools? From empirical observations, I am afraid not.

In Ghana today, and under the current democratic dispensation, a few political party leaders or personalities, in the name of partisan politics, have craftily been inciting a larger section of the populace to believe otherwise. This is especially so with the NDC leaders who are always on the move to instigate the Ghanaian public to see evil about any policy or programme initiated by President Nana Akufo-Addo and his NPP government.

The NDC have made many a Ghanaian believe that doing illegal surface and alluvial mining will create more jobs for the teeming unemployed hence the destruction caused by the mining to the nation’s ecology pales compared to the jobs it creates. The mining is devastating the nation’s water bodies, fertile and arable lands and forests yet, the NDC for want of power, do not give a hoot. Without water to drink, people will die. Without fertile lands to cultivate for food production, people will famish and subsequently die. Without forests to aid rainfall, the nation’s lands will turn into deserts to culminate in the death of people.

Every successful nation in this world has a well-developed human resource base, especially, in this competitive global market. It is only formal education that can acquire citizens the needed knowledge to develop their nation’s human resource base. Yet, the NDC believe that giving impartial education to the people, equitably accessible to both the rich and the poor, through free Senior High School (SHS) education, does not augur well for the nation and the citizenry. They have capitalised on the unforeseen problems associated with any new innovation as are manifesting in the free SHS, but not unique to it, to rubbish the programme to get it killed.

Some Ghanaians who are not farsighted and innovative enough but are always waiting on the Whiteman for handouts and directions, same as a child waits on his parents to be fed, clothed and catered for in all their needs, have agreed with the NDC to pull down the free SHS. Little do these people know that they are harming themselves rather than causing the downfall of President Nana Akufo-Addo and his NPP government. This view is buttressed by the Akan adage, “the goat thinks to be defacing the wall of its owner by dragging its body across it without actually knowing it is rather destroying its wool”

There is a government innovation programme tailored along the lines of eventually making Ghana self-sufficient in her food requirements. This programme is called “Planting for Food and Jobs” . There is another one to address the unemployment in the country. It is “The Nation Builders Corps”.

“The Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) programme is a government initiative to address graduate unemployment to solve social problems. The focus of the initiative will be solving public service delivery in health, education, agriculture, technology, governance and drive revenue mobilization and collection”

However, the NDC have been able to persuade many Ghanaians among whom are university professors and academics holding PhD degrees to continually denigrate the visionary policies and programmes by President Nana Akufo-Addo and his NPP government.

When firm decision was taken to sanitise the financial sector, closing down Ponzi scheme microfinance and Savings & Loans institutions as well as consolidating established insolvent but leechy banks, so became under the NDC government, the NDC started kicking against it. They promised to revive the closed down financial institutions, give back the banks to their respective owners if they won election 2020. Many a Ghanaian fell for the hollow-mindedness of the NDC in this regard hence thronging to vote for them during the election.

Until today, some Ghanaians do believe that the Supreme Court in applying the laws as are entrenched in the constitution, stipulated in the rules of court, established by precedents, etc., to resolving the election 2020 presidential election petition, the court was biased. This is the view permanently, but disgracefully and wrongly being spread by the NDC that failed to support their petition with evidence.

Is it not the NDC that hatched the most wicked and murderous plans to make Ghana insecure and ungovernable through armed robberies, arsons, kidnappings, insults, etc.? Are their plots not manifesting in Ghana today as I write? However, are they not the same people accusing the president of weakness hence a misfit in his post?

Instead of Ghanaians seeing how evil the NDC are to making Ghana difficult as it is at the moment, they are rather praising them but blaming the NPP government. Look at how the NDC MPs are behaving in parliament all with intent to sabotage President Nana Akufo-Addo and his government.

If Ghanaians were farsighted enough, they could see that the NDC are the cause of the economic stagnation or woes of Ghana? Are the NDC not supportive of the ongoing armed robberies, destruction of the country’s water bodies, devastation of farmlands, etc.?

Ghanaians, do not see the value of the visionary president they currently have until they lose him only to come back in future to say, “had we known….”, but it would be too late by then.

Ghanaians are advised to be wary of their actions to curtail their propensity to letting some politicians fool them all the time.

Does former President John Mahama have a vision to develop Ghana should he be given the chance to rule the country again? Is his vision not only to allow ramification of galamsey, Ponzi scheme microfinance institutions and banks and the create, loot and share judgment debt payments?

I leave you to your conscience, all ye Ghanaians helping to scupper the visionary policies and programmes of President Nana Akufo-Addo to give him a bad name to chase him and NPP out of power, only to usher in John Mahama and the NDC.

You only stand to realise the value of the president when he is no more; by which time you will be biting your finger in regret.
