A latex foam wholesale shop and several other shops have been gutted by fire in Techiman, the regional capital of the Bono East region.
According to local media reports, the sad incident occurred at about 12:40 pm on Monday, 12th April 2021.
After several calls to the fire service department, firefighters rushed in to douse the fire. The situation got tough that the firefighters had to call for reinforcement from other stations.
The Regional Fire Commander, A.C.F.O George Anin Frimpong, said the cause of the fire is not yet known but an investigation is still ongoing to ascertain the cause.
He added that many properties worth thousands of Ghana cedis have been raised down by the fire.
