Ewe Community In Krachi-East Endorses NPP's Hon. Michael Gyato

The Ewe Community in the Krachi-East Constituency of the Oti Region has endorsed the incumbent Member of Parliament Hon. Michael Yaw Gyato and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the December polls.

The spokesperson for the group who doubles as a women organizer for the opposition NDC earlier on Wednesday 25th November spoke on behalf of the group.

She was speaking at a community engagement tour by the Oti Regional Youth Wing dubbed "Touching Base With the Constituencies: The Hope Mission' at Asukawkaw."

It can be recalled that the Krachi-East Constituency has always been with the opposition NDC Member of Parliament Hon. Wisdom Gidisu for 12years until 2016 when the incumbent NPP Member of Parliament Hon. Michael Yaw Gyato snatched the seat.

After 3 and half years of service to the people, Hon. Gyato has become a household name amongst the constituents for placing Krachi-East on the world map.

He is seeking re-election for a second term.

However, the former NDC MP has staged a comeback on the ticket of the NDC to be given a fourth term. This decision has angered a lot of people in the constituency who opined that, the former MP has nothing up his sleeves to offer after 12 wasted years in Parliament.

This development has led the NDC to resort to tribal cards in the constituency. However, the Ewe community in the constituency has resolved to vote for development instead of being tribesmen.

The jobs, social interventions, rural infrastructure and livelihood empowerment programs by Hon. Michael Gyato and the NPP government in the last three and half years is unprecedented.

In less than two weeks to the polls, the current development in the Krachi-East constituency places the incumbent NPP MP on a good footing towards his second term bid.
