The Member of Parliament for the Ellembelle constituency, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah has suspended his campaign to sympathize with his supporters who were run over by a vehicle on Sunday, November 2 at Azuleneno in the Western Region.

About 30 supporters of the National Democratic Congress who were part of a campaign walk from Essiama heading towards Ayinase in the Ellembelle constituency were hit by a vehicle injuring several and killing one.

Mr. Armah-Kofi Buah in a Citi News interview said the accident has done him a serious blow.

He has thus assured of doing everything within his capacity to ensure the best of treatment is given to the victims.

“This is a big blow for me. I am looking at those who got injured and three people in critical condition, and we are praying with them to recover speedily. We are not going on with campaigns now.”

“We need to focus on them and make sure that they recover. It’s not about me but about the people I want to lead and serve and I will support the injured persons so that they can recover fully.”

Dr. James Mensah who received the injured at the St. Martins De Pore Catholic Hospital at Ekwe gave a breakdown of the state of injuries to Citi News.

“Yesterday, we had an incident of a road traffic accident where a stationary car was crashed into by a moving car with the stationary car running over some people going on a float. So at our facility, we had some critically injured patients and several others sustaining fractures with one casualty.”
