Against All Odds: The Inspiring Story of a Mother's Perseverance to Educate Her Child

The story of Nma Mary Talenbil Zoogah, a mother who persevered against all odds to educate her children, is an inspiring one. Her story is one of determination, resilience, and the power of a mother's love.

Mary Talenbil Zoogah was a woman who faced many challenges in her life. She was neglected by her female colleagues, who did not want her to be part of the SuSu group in the community because she would not be able to pay the money back. She had nine children to feed, and she walked a thousand miles looking for ways to provide for them.

Despite these difficulties, Mary pushed to ensure that her child received an education and did not have to go through what she had experienced. She worked hard even when things seemed impossible, and she would cry throughout the night. She went to borrow money from people and did not get it, and her story was heard and mocked.

But Mary never gave up; she kept her faith alive and continued to strive until the end. She managed to send her third daughter to secondary school, and after secondary school, the only option for this child was marriage. However, Mary said NO, not when she was still alive. She pushed and sent her daughter to university.

Now, the daughter knows where she came from and did not relent but pushed hard. Sometimes, the daughter had to travel to the South to look for a job so she could pay for her hostel fees and food. Sometimes, she missed lectures for about a month, and when she returned to school, she had to go on a hunger strike, surviving on water, Gari, and Zom.

But little did Mary know that God was preparing something big for her. Now, her daughter is a graduate, and two of her children are also in university. This is a testament to Mary's perseverance and determination to give her children a better life.

Mary's daughter, Zoogah Dorcas, recently graduated from the Nyankpala Campus of the University for Development Studies (UDS) with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. This is a remarkable achievement, and it is a testament to the power of a mother's love and perseverance.

Dorcas dedicated her certificate to God Almighty for giving her mother strength and seeing her through. She also dedicated it to her mother and father, Badanamoana Zoogah, the late Rev. Samuel Asaman for taking her as his daughter and for his prayers, the Zoogah family, especially Aunty Laady Mavis Zoogah and Belinda Zoogah, and the Young Urban Women movement for empowering her to stand against pain and letting her know that her condition should not define her.

This is a heartwarming story of a mother's love and perseverance against all odds. Mary's determination and resilience have inspired her children to pursue their dreams and achieve their goals.
