Ghanaian reggae-dancehall musician, Shatta Wale, has opined about the real cause of the declining Ghana music industry.

The award-winning musician claimed that the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Mark Okraku Mantey, is the cause of the downfall of many musicians.

Appearing on the Accra-based Metro TV's Good Evening Ghana show, hosted by Paul Adom Otchere on Thursday, October 7, the self-acclaimed African dancehall king revealed that the Minister has always wished him bad in his music exploits.

“Do you know when Mark Okraku-Mantey started blocking me? Started saying that I won’t make it, I won’t get anywhere in my life…?” Shatta Wale quizzed.

“Mark Okraku-Mantey is the problem of this whole music thing. When he was Programmes Manager at Hitz FM, he said on the radio that because they were calling Shatta Wale for an interview and Shatta Wale didn’t come, so, they decided to create their own hero which was Stonebwoy…,” he alleged.

Shatta’s attack on Mr. Okraku Mantey stems from the Minister’s recent confession of intentionally helping Stonebwoy to outshine Shatta Wale because he (Shatta) is disrespectful.

"Shatta wale was rude. We invited him for an interview and he turned it down so we decided to blacklist him.

“So we decided to support Stonebwoy and make him a hero because he was not rude. So we decided to play a lot of Stonebwoy's songs," the Deputy Minister stated in an interview with Hitz FM.
