Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong, better known as Black Sherif, Ghana's current most popular artist, has set his sights on international awards for himself and the entire music industry.

Having been nominated for the Grammys through Rocky Dawuni on two separate occasions without winning, Ghanaian music fans are eagerly awaiting the day when their own will grab an international award.

In an interview with Amansan Krakye on Cape Coast-based Kastle FM, the newest sensation and BET nominee stated that he will do everything within his power to win the award and satisfy Ghana's long-held hunger.

The "Soja" hitmaker intimated again that winning a Grammy Award as a Ghanaian artist will also help to raise the flag of Ghana, so he is on the path to achieving that.

“I think that with me my perspective about the Grammys is different, but I will be extremely delighted to win the Grammy Awards.

“But I feel that what’s happening is about raising high the Ghana flag so me my part that I can play till I will go is what I’m playing,” he said.
