Head coach of the national U-23 side, Ibrahim Tanko has heaped praises of his players for qualifying for the 2019 CAF U23 Cup of Nations for the first time since 2004.
The Black Meteors shocked Algeria in Setif by a lone goal in the return leg encounter to qualify on 2-1 aggregate.
A lone strike on the 65th minute through Yaw Yeboah ended the dream of the young foxes of Algeria.
"The game today showed the character of the boys. It wasn't easy after the first game as most of them were really very done,'' Tanko said in a post-match interview.
''It took us two to three days to psyche them up and make them believe that they can beat them in their home ground.
''So I have to commend the boys for their determination and dedication," he added.
This year's edition of the CAF U23 Cup of Nations which will be staged between 5-22 November 2019 in Egypt.
The tournament also serves as a qualifier for the 2020 Olympics Games.
