JUL 2, 2019 LISTEN

The organizing committee of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament has appointed Gabonese Referee Eric Oyogo Castanets to officiate the group F clash between Ghana and Guinea Bissau.

Black Stars and the Wild Dogs will lock horns at the Suez Sports Stadium in Suez later today in what will be a win or go home encounter. Both sides are bottom of the table with just a point separating them.

A win will elevate either side into a good position that will see them progress from the group stage into the knockout phase.

Ahead of the match, referee Eric Oyogo Castanets has been given the mandate to ensure the rules of the game are applied accordingly on the field of play.

This will not be the first time the experienced referee will be acting as the adjudicator for a match involving Ghana.

He was the middle man when Ghana defeated Equatorial Guinea 3-0 at the 2015 AFCON.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars will need to pick up all 3 points to ensure they progress into the knockout phase as they bid to win their 5th AFCON title.
