Former Black Stars midfielder, Derek Boateng is adamant Ghana can still qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup that will be staged in Russia.

Ghana’s chances of qualifying to the world cup do not look bright after failing to take up their chances.

The Black Stars are currently occupying the third spot in Group E by five points trailing group leaders Egypt with four points as well as trailing second placed Uganda by two points, with two games left as they scheduled to face the Uganda Cranes in the penultimate match of the qualifiers.

According to Boateng, he remains optimistic about Ghana’s chances and believes the Black Stars will fight to end to see whether they can make it to next year’s football fiesta.

“We should keep on supporting the Black Stars because if they win we all win, we have to stop criticizing and support the players. With regards to our 2018 World Cup dreams, ‘never say never’ because we have to fight till the end and see what happens.

“So for me I think we still have a chance,” Boateng told Sportscrusader.

The Black Stars will face the Uganda Cranes on October 7 and will play the Pharaohs of Egypt in the last match of the group on November 5, 2017.
