Tema, Dec. 17, GNA - Mr Felix Owusu-Adjapong, newly-elected President of the Tema Country Golf Club would defend the Afariwaah Invitational Golf Championship trophy he won last year, when this year's event tees off at Tema on Saturday, December 18.
Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, Chief Executive Officer of the club who announced this at Tema on Thursday, said the one-day 18-Hole Stableford competition, which is being sponsored by Afariwaah Farms Limited will climax this year's activities.
He said more than 100 amateur golfers from Tema, the host, Celebrity, Achimota and Bok Nam Kim Golf clubs are expected to participate in the event.
Among the golfers who would be battling the newly-elected President who is also the Majority Leader in Parliament, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and the Member of Parliament for Akim Swedru for the trophy are team-mates Ebenezer Teye Mensah, Peter Amenyo, Kofi Gyau and John Cobbina.
Nana Owusu Afari, Managing Director of Afariwaah Farms Limited would be assisted by the out-going Captain of Tema Country Golf Club, Mr Alex Fiagomey to present prizes to the winners.
