Don against the world: Sterling files new lawsuit seeking damages from NBA, Adam Silver, wife, Clippers

Tuesday afternoon saw the Los Angeles Clippers' ownership saga take yet another twist.

Alleging they violated corporate law in attempting to sell the Clippers to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, Donald Sterling filed a new lawsuit  in Superior Court seeking damages from the NBA, commissioner Adam Silver, his wife Shelly Sterling, and the Los Angeles Clippers Basketball Club.

Donald Sterling argues that he's the sole owner and shareholder of LAC Basketball Club, the private corporation that manages the Clippers and whose shares were transferred to the Sterling Family Trust in 1998. He alleges that when he revoked the trust on June 9, those shares reverted back to his name and Shelly Sterling had no authority to sell them.

The disgraced owner announced the lawsuit during his testimony on Tuesday in the  trial  that seeks to determine whether Shelly Sterling was authorized to sell the Clippers to former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer after Donald Sterling was deemed mentally unfit to run the trust.

There's also the possibility of the new lawsuit being consolidated with the ongoing trial between Donald Sterling and the NBA, in which Donald Sterling is seeking $1 billion in damages. And unfortunately, it seems like this whole ordeal may be set to drag on for quite some time.
