MTN to sponsor Accra Golf Open

Accra, Sept 24, GNA – Communication giants MTN Ghana, will seek to expand its sponsorship frontiers for golf this year.

The company will later in the year sponsor, the Accra Open Golf Champion to be hosted by Achimota Golf Club.

Michael Ikpoki, CEO of MTN Ghana, revealed this at the 80th MTN Ghana Open Golf Championship at the Celebrity Golf Club Sakumono.

He said, his outfit's decision to sponsor the competition, was based on that fact that it has provided them a double edge advantage.

“We have been able to work with our customers as well as explore the potential of golf in the country.

“MTN will continue to support Golf in the country because we are interested in the development and promotion of the sport,” he noted.

Dr. Felix Frempong, President of Ghana Golf Association (GGA ) commended participants and sponsors for making the competition, the biggest on the country's golf calendar a success.

He urged club captains and presidents to encourage youth participation on the sport.
