Accra, Sep.19, GNA – Accra Hearts of Oak produced a sterling performance to beat newly promoted Amidaus Professionals 3-0 in a friendly on Wednesday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Parading new recruits such as Emmanuel Ansong, Seth Owusu, Nuru Sulley, Moro Iddrisu and Richard Addai, the Phobians were a delight to watch as they gave their fans a tip of what to expect in the impending season.
The Phobians completely dominated Amidaus, who had midfielder Yahaya Mohamed on loan from Asante Kotoko as the brightest spot in the team.
On 10 minutes, Addai broke the deadlock by heading in from Edward Affum's cross after Captain Mahatma Otoo had done all the work.
Just before half time, Affum doubled the lead, capitalizing on a blunder by the opponent's defence, before delivering an angled shot past Amidaus goalie Eric Ofori Antwi.
The Phobians maintained their hold of the game and on 71 minutes Otoo capped his day with the third goal, finishing a one-to-one with Thomas Abbey.
Hearts are scheduled to face Liberty Professionals in yet another friendly on Sunday, September 23 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
