Three Paramount chiefs in Brong Ahafo, Nana Oduro Boamah, Paramount Chief of Tano Boase, Nana Kwaku Yiadom Boakye, Paramount Chief of Tanoso and Nana Baffour Asare II, Paramount Chief of Tuobodom Traditional Areas have respectively written to the National Security Coordinator, Larry Gbevlo-Lartey over their abortive induction ceremonies.
The National Security is purported to have instructed the Brong Ahafo Regional Security Council (REGSEC) to call off the induction ceremony of the three chiefs on two occasions.
The REGSEC was said to have taken the action based on the purported recommendations made by the National Security.
However, a letter chanced upon by DAILY GUIDE, which was addressed to the National Security Coordinator on behalf of the three chiefs by their counsel, Nana Obiri Boahen, stated that the National Security never took any action on the induction of the said chiefs.
'In fact, our clients, the Asanteman Council and our goodselves have conducted our own investigations and it has come out that the National Security has on no occasion written to the Brong Ahafo Regional Security Council to halt the 'induction' of our clients.
'We are reliably informed that some individuals, who are members of the Regional Security Council, in collaboration with some chiefs, whose stock-in-trade is to see to it that, our clients are not inducted, just to satisfy their own egoistic and myopic ends, have been resorting to such unorthodox and unfair conduct/practice,' the letter stated.
The chiefs therefore drew the attention of the National Security Council to what they called 'dangerous practice being carried out by the Brong Ahafo Regional Security Council in the name of the National Security Council.'
Nana Oduro Boamah, Nana Kwaku Yiadom Boakye and Nana Baffour Asare II have been gazetted as paramount chiefs with serial numbers: 2049, 2051 and 2053 respectively.
