Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi has said his new position as the Management Committee Chairman of the Black Stars will not be a burden as suggested by his predecessor, Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe.

Nyaho Tamakloe believes Fred Pappoe should have been maintained as chairman of the committee to free Kwesi Nyantakyi to concentrate on his presidential commitments and CAF duties.

Mr. Nyantakyi explained that he has had to take up the job himself as a strategic change. He insists adding the new post to his portfolio is not a problem at all.

Speaking to JOY Sports' Dennis Mirpuri, Mr. Nyantakyi said “as a manager, I know management is doing things through people. I don't have to go to a pharmacy shop to go and buy drugs for the Black Stars. I am the chairman of all the committees of the GFA. Everything that happens on each committee, except the judicial bodies, their decisions are subject to the executive committee. So, nothing goes on [in] any committee without my knowledge.”

He added that, “I make several inputs and [take ultimate] decisions for all these committees so whether I am the chairman on a day to day basis or behind the scenes chairman, I don't see any difference in that.”

The job of the Black Stars manager was traditionally for the head of the FA but former FA Vice president Fred Pappoe occupied the position for the past five years until recently when he was dropped.
