Accra, June 9, GNA - The Achimota Golf monthly Medal Golf Championship of June will be played at Achimota Golf course in Accra on Saturday, June 20.
Mr Emmanuel Kwabena Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Club who disclosed this in Accra on Tuesday, said the competition, which will be sponsored by Coca -Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited, would be used to select players to represent the Club in the maiden U.T. Bank Open Championship later next month.
He said about 120 golfers are expected to take part in the one-day event which would be played in accordance with the rules of the Club.
Mr Oteng-Aboagye said out of the number of participants, 60 would be selected to represent the Club for the Championship which has very attractive prizes at stake.
He said some of the golfers expected to participate in the competition include Matthias Dorfe, Charles Tabi, Paul List, Daniel List, Yaw Assah-Sam and Mike Aggrey.
The Ladies category would also witness stiff opposition from Mona Myles-Lamptey, Clara Price, Margaret Owusu-Baah and Adelaide Owusu-Adjapong.
Coca-Cola is sponsoring this year's Achimota Golf Club Monthly Medal Open Championships.
