The Ghana Armed Forces Training School in collaboration with the National Sports Council (NSC) has temporarily suspended the use of the soccer pitch at the El-Wak Sports Stadium, in Accra.
A statement signed and issued by Hammah Hamid Issakah, Public Relations Officer of NSC said the suspension is to enable the authorities to upgrade certain portions of the pitch.
The areas that need upgrading include the goal areas which have become bare as a result of continuous usage.
The statement said the athletic tracks, volleyball and basketball courts will however be available for use during the period of the temporary suspension.
The pitch is expected to be ready for use on Monday, November 3, 2008.
