Asante Kotoko coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum has emphasized the importance of winning matches, citing the joy it brings to fans, technical staff, and players alike.

After enduring a seven-game winless streak, the team turned things around with two wins and a draw in their last three matches.

Ogum made his comments following his team's 2-0 victory over Legon Cities at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Steven Mukwala put Asante Kotoko ahead after 33 minutes with a penalty, though its awarding is a matter of debate. Yussif Mohammed Nurudeen doubled the lead just five minutes into the second half, securing the 2-0 win for Kotoko.

Ogum praised the importance of winning football matches for the supporters.

"Winning is what our supporters always want. So once we win, they are happy and we are also happy," Ogum told StarTimes.

The victory marked a significant turnaround for Asante Kotoko after their seven-game winless streak. Their recent form has seen them secure two wins and a draw in their last three matches.

The win propelled Asante Kotoko up the league table by two places, now sitting in ninth position with 40 points, a notable improvement from their eleventh-place start of the day.
