The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) have congratulated the country's Athletics Association and the 4x100m men's relay team on their qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The quartet of Joseph Paul Amoah, Benjamin Azamati, Isaac Botsio and Ibrahim Fuseini secured their place at the Olympics after winning their heat at the World Athletics Relays in the Bahamas on Sunday, May 6, in a season-best time of 38.29 seconds.

The team had experienced disappointment on the first day of the event when they dropped the baton during a handover.

However, they were able to bounce back strongly to achieve the qualifying standard for Paris 2024.

In a statement, the GOC praised the relay team's resilience and commitment to overcoming setbacks.

"Your path to this milestone reflects your exceptional abilities, passion for success, and the true spirit of sportsmanship,” it said.

The GOC further congratulated the team on their achievement and wished them the best in their preparations for Paris 2024.

"GOC is working hard with its stakeholders to ensure that Team Ghana is well represented at the Olympic Games," the statement added.

The much anticipated Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024 in the French capital.
