Aduana Stars put up a strong display on Saturday afternoon and kept a clean sheet en route to beating Great Olympics 1-0 in the Ghana Premier League.

With less than 10 matches to go in the ongoing 2022/23 league season, the Dormaa-based club has set sights on winning as many matches to emerge as champions.

Today, the team hosted Great Olympics at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in a Week 26 encounter of the Ghana Premier League campaign.

Knowing that a defeat would drag the team into the relegation zone, Great Olympics also put up a very good performance and showed a lot of resilience in the bid to earn at least a point.

Unfortunately, for the visiting team, Aduana Stars had too much quality. A solitary strike from Frank Owusu in the 54th minute condemned Olympics to a 1-0 defeat as Aduana Stars earned all three points at the end of the exciting contest.

Courtesy of the win, Aduana Stars have opened a six-point gap at the top of the Ghana Premier League standings.

Meanwhile, Great Olympics have sunk into the relegation zone of the log.

In the other Ghana Premier League match played on Saturday, Tamale City FC came from two goals down to beat Bechem United 3-2.
