Hearts of Oak Board Member Alhaji Akambi accused of frustrating departed Kosta Papic

Following the departure of Kosta Papic as the head coach of Hearts of Oak, Board Member, Alhaji Akambi has been accused of frustrating the 60-year-old.

Modernghana.com on Monday reported that the gaffer will part ways with the Ghana Premier League due to interference from some board members and management members.

Papic after a marathon meeting with the Board Members of the club tendered in his resignation letter just after three months.

The 60-year-old in an interview with Accra based Angel FM confirmed that his job was influenced by some board and management members of teh club.

In a Board meeting on Monday, Saban Quaye, who is the team manager accused Alhaji Akambi of influencing the job of the coach.

The accusation did not go down well with Akambi but he apologized to the Board of the club for his actions.

Papic took charge of the Phobians in November 2020, and guided them to 10 matches in the Ghanaian Premier League where he won four, drew three and lost three.

Papic has been offered a more lucrative offer with a Tanzanian club and is quitting Hearts of Oak to take that job.

Assistant coach, Joseph Asare Bediako left his role last role. On Monday, goalkeeper's trainer, Ben Owu has also left the club.

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak have confirmed that U-15 coach, Samuel Nii Noi, would take charge in the interim until a new head coach is appointed.
