Mamponteng,(Ash),Oct.20, GNA - The National Steering Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has declared its satisfaction and recognition of the Kwabre-West Constituency elections, describing it as genuine and acceptable.

The Committee said based on a petition against the election by a section of the constituents within the Constituency, a meeting was held by the Committee to deliberate on the misunderstanding. It said the elections were genuine and followed the appropriate rules and regulations.

The Committee's decision was contained in a letter dated October 18, this year, and signed by Mr. Harona Esseku, National Chairman of the NPP.

The letter was addressed to the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP and copied to the Chairman of the Kwabre-West Constituency of the party.

A copy of the Committee's letter was presented to Alhaji Akwasi Yeboah, Kwabre District Chief Executive at Mamponteng on Wednesday by the Constituency Executives led by its Chairman, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, and also formally introduced them to the DCE.

The Committee's letter stated, "We are satisfied that the elections were properly conducted, and that all the constitutional requirements were met, and for that matter the elections and swearing in of Odeneho Kwaku Appiah as Chairman of the constituency are duly upheld". It said "Odeneho Appiah should perform his duty as Constituency Chairman without any hindrance from any other quarters." Odeneho Appiah, assured the DCE that the Constituency Executives would not wrestle power from anyone, but would work hard in concert with all and sundry to bring victory to the party.

He pledged their commitment to work in close collaboration with the DCE, Members of Parliament (MPs) and other party officials to ensure that unity and progress was made the hallmark of the party in Kwabre and Ashanti.

Alhaji Yeboah advised all NPP functionaries and activists to bury their differences and rally behind the Executives to make the NPP a formidable force to reckon with in the country.
