B/A: Sunyani-Abesim Residents Living In Fear Following Increasing Cases Of Robbery Attacks

Residents of Abesim and its environs namely Geny Guest House area,Glamossay Hotel area and among others in the Sunyani East constituency of the Brong Ahafo region are living in fear and panic as a result of frequent attacks on their homes and shops.

They said over the past three weeks,armed robbers have attacked and robbed shops, stores and houses in the area.

In an interview with Sunyani based radio Ahomka 90.5FM,Some worried residents said several lives have been threatened with some of them robbed of their valuables,"it’s always a ‘deadly affair’ for us to walk around in the night" they said.

Mr. Evans Antwi, a resident, said on the dawn of Thursday,November 23, 2017, robbers attacked over five houses and robbed them of their properties like TVs,Monies and clothes.

"Even last two weeks, they(armed robbers) robbed Boutique shop around 'Sika Bar' ,without leaving a pin there,same day they also attacked many houses and went way with car taps" he told Ahomka FM Reporter.

Residents said they have reported the issue to Abesim police, but no action has been taken,we don't see them (Police) in the night. "We are gradually losing confidence in the Abesim police" they added.

They said the situation so strange and outrageous, as they are not safe.

The residents therefore called on Brong Ahafo regional police Command to up their game in the wake of the insecurity situation the area.
